WinCo Foods is a growing employee-owned supermarket chain.  For many years, WinCo Foods has fostered a tradition of success by focusing on very large stores with a wide selection of national brands at prices below our competition. WinCo is continuing this record of success, now operating 145 stores in 10 states. 

Program Details

Introduction to WinCo Foods Machine Learning environment.  Develop skills in designing, training, and tuning machine learning models.  Training to effectively prototype algorithms, research learning models, and help deploy models into production-ready environments. Participate in the collection, cleaning, and analysis of data to inform model adjustments. Performs all duties required of a Machine Learning Developer.

Summary

• 10 week program (begins in June); 20-40 hours per week
• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university and participating in a Computer Science program
• Work on special projects, perform, model analysis and present recommendations to business leaders

 Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

• 18 years or older
• Orientation, System Overview, and Job Shadowing
• Basic Training, Database and SQL training
• Clean, preprocess, and analyze large datasets, including exploratory data analysis
• Design, training, and tuning machine learning models (XGBOOST)
• Production code development utilizing Python, PyTorch and deep learning frameworks
• Automate model performance evaluation/retraining/deployment.
• Participate in code reviews and pair programming within Agile teams

Requirements

Intern Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited university Computer Science program having completed Junior year of studies or higher.
• Understanding of database design and programming concepts/methods.
• Understanding in handling datasets and capable of contributing to production-level code, utilizing Python, SQL, and deep learning frameworks.
• Proficient in use of personal computers and Microsoft productivity tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer, OneNote).
