Overview

Job Summary

Provide implementation and operations of all IT equipment and software applications including but not limited to the Point of Sale (POS) technology, scales, and printers and participate in the support of Retail Technology in stores and distribution centers. Develop close working relations with operations and remain current on operational procedures in order to recommend new technologies to improve our business and customer experiences. Learn the management of problem resolution. Consistently provides world class customer service to internal and external customers. Perform other related work.

 

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service with users by telephone, email, and in person.
  • Provide support to our stores regarding technical systems within our stores and distribution centers.
  • Serve as an administrator for applications used within Retail Technology.
  • Provide database management, site setup and systems configurations.
  • Perform software maintenance, menu changes, and system configurations as directed.
  • Actively participate in new store/distribution center setup and configuration.
  • Develop close working relationships with store management and staff, including learning their business processes to better serve them with technology.
  • Be a problem-solving and escalation point including on-call rotations.
  • Manage and maintain incident/problem tickets for the Retail Technology Team.
  • Prepare and present project status reports as requested.
  • Create and maintain Quality Assurance test scripts where needed.
  • Set-up and maintain Lab environments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

Requirements

Education:

  • Associates’ degree in a technology related discipline or demonstrated equivalent Retail Technology experience.

 Experience:

  • At least two (2) years of responsibility for various Retail Technology systems.
  • Working knowledge of Retail Technology systems. (Point Of Sale, sign printing, scales, voice picking, application administration)
  • Strong analytical skills, strong time management and organization skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

 Ability to:

  • Consistently provide world class customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Communicate effectively both written and verbal.
  • Convey ideas in a logical order and professional manner.
  • Analyze and diagnose technical problems utilizing documentation, tools, and knowledge database.
  • Multi-task effectively, remaining detail oriented, and maintaining composure in a fast paced IT environment.
  • Utilize logical thought processes and learn new systems, concepts, and procedures.
  • Work various shifts as requested or scheduled which may include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Perform “on-call” for off-hours support as scheduled which may include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Perform all tasks efficiently and accurately with confidentiality, honesty and integrity.

 Preferred Education, Experience and/or Credentials:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technology related discipline or demonstrated equivalent Retail Technology experience.
  • Four (4) years of responsibility for various Retail Technology systems.
