Job Summary
The Application Administrator serves as an application specialist for one or more business applications. Key aspects of this position include: (1) Researching and implementing application changes and improvements in the assigned application(s), (2) Providing project implementation support, system lifecycle support, and end user production support, and (3) Closely working with other application administrators, software developers, business analysts, and IT infrastructure and security personnel to ensure the assigned application(s) meet WinCo’s business needs.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
• Serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for applications within the assigned area of responsibility.
• Provides timely and accurate production support for the assigned applications.
• Works with business stakeholders on feature requests, upgrades, migrations, and integrations.
• Maintains a detailed list of all applications and their business details, for all assigned applications.
• Monitors application performance and uptime via established IT monitoring practices and methods.
• Conducts application unit testing, integration testing, and system testing.
• Escalates urgent problems requiring more authority or knowledge to appropriate resources.
• Enters and manages vendor tickets/cases.
• Recommends application improvements through frequent interaction with the business.
• Leads minor software implementations and upgrade planning.
• Adheres to proper change management processes.
• Creates and reviews PCRs (program change requests), especially in regards application changes/fixes.
• Collaborates with business stakeholders to plan system maintenance patches and upgrades.
• Creates and sends communication for application change notices.
• Participates in the evaluation of new applications, and coordinates reviews by all IT support teams.
• Understands and follows the complete service desk process flow.
• Reviews system performance and participates with triage of application errors.
• Troubleshoots problems and answers basic- to intermediate-level questions.
• Updates and maintains application documentation.
• Delivers end user application training as needed.
• Reviews and verifies invoices.
• Submits POs and invoices for approval and payment.
Requirements
Education/Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, information systems, or equivalent work experience.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite and SharePoint software.
• Proficient use of remote office and collaboration tools such as Zoom, MS/Teams and Slack.
• Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
• Knowledge of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL).

• Ability to take ownership of an application, learn it’s key functionality, and evangelize its proper use.
• Communicate timely meeting recaps including business decisions, open items, and next steps.
• Serve in an on-call production support structure to resolve problems, potentially after hours.
• Organize requirements gathering or group testing for application changes, upgrades, and patches.
• Work on assigned tasks with little supervision.
• Perform duties with efficiency and accuracy requiring little coaching.
• Perform confidential tasks with integrity.
Machines and Equipment Operated:
• Office machines (e.g., cell phone, computer, copy machine, telephone, fax, etc.) and other devices.
Preferred Education, Experience and/or Credentials:
• Experience in application administration and support.
• Experience in retail business operations.
