Overview

 

Job Summary

The Advertising Manager is responsible for leading the advertising team and overseeing the company’s advertising and marketing efforts across print, outdoor, television, and radio platforms. This role manages media buying, vendor negotiations, and the production of advertising materials to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment. Additionally, this role leads the in-store demo program, coordinates marketing for grand openings and special events, and oversees the comparative shopping program.

 

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead and develop the advertising team; supervises work and assesses staff performance.
  • Manage and schedule all Company Print and Outdoor advertising, including design, proofing and print production to ensure a consistent, clear, and accurate message.
  • Responsible for all advertising media buying, including print, billboards, television and radio.
  • Secure bids and negotiate pricing for all advertising projects.
  • Oversee design, production and printing of advertising projects.
  • Lead and manage In-store Demo program.
  • Manage new store grand opening advertising and marketing program plan,
  • Assist with advertising and marketing as requested for special events.
  • Schedule and lead compare shops as requested company-wide.
  • Edit and oversee quarterly company newsletter, including photos, layout, print and mailing distribution.
  • Work closely with social media team to align in-store and digital advertising programs.
  • Design, create and distribute various internal signage and miscellaneous pieces.
  • Create and maintain budget recaps for previous and future projects.
  • Ensure invoices are processed for outside vendors.
  • Measure, analyze and report results of advertising expenditure and response to determine ad effectiveness.
  • Research and recommend new advertising strategies, channels and technologies.
  • Travel as needed.

 

 

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field OR combined equivalent education, training and experience.

 

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in advertising, marketing, or media buying with a strong focus on print, outdoor, television, and radio campaigns.
  • Detailed understanding of digital marketing and social media channels.
  • Graphic design experience (Adobe Suite/In-Design).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Excellent grammar, proof-reading, and creative copy writing skills.
  • Must be self-directed and demonstrate initiative.
  • Ability to organize, direct and schedule work assignments, communicate effectively both orally and written.

 

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Retail or Grocery In-store and/or pricing experience.
